LIFE Nepal has implemented Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme (BSFP) in 11 municipalities of Madhesh Province in Nepal are Bateshwar, Janaknandani, Mithila Bihari, and Kamala Municipalities of Dhanusha District and Balara, Chakraghatta, Kaudena, Godaita, Hariharpur, Brahmapuri, and Kabilasi Municipalities of Sarlahi District with technical assistance of WFP and the financial support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in relation to support the Government of Nepal (GoN) to reduce the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 and flood.
In response to the above, implementation of nutrition, supply chain and livelihoods emergency programmes in close coordination with the federal and the provincial government to prevent malnutrition among children 6-23 months of age and PLW with specialized nutritious food, Wheat-soya blend (WSB+) distribution to 27,239 PLW and Children at ration of 3 kg per person per month for a period of two months, one-time distribution (100 gram per day for 60 days), as recommended in the national Interim BSFP standard operating procedure (SOP) that was developed by the National Nutrition Cluster, Family Welfare Division, and endorsed by the Department of Health Service, Ministry of Health and Population.
