In response to address insufficient and inadequate awareness of caregivers, adolescent, pregnant and lactating women on optimal infant and young children feeding practice and micronutrient needs during and after COVID pandemic, LIFE Nepal with the technical and financial assistance from UNICEF implemented “Nutrition in Emergency” programme.

Major Achievements:
-Megaphone announcement through mobilization of Tuktuk/rikshaw/vehicle at local level completed. The key message about PLW in pandemic situation. how to take care of children above 6 months and breastfeeding to the baby more often than before in such situation .
-Nutrition PSA dissemination through FMs Bhojpuri and Maithili completed. The key message of PSA developed for awareness-raising information on how to care for babies over 6 months of age as well as breastfeeding to the baby more often than before. Pregnant women were also advised to know about breastfeeding if they have corona virus or if there is a suspicion that the virus is not transmitted through breast milk.
