In Dhanusha, adolescent girls are championing a powerful “Learning While Earning” campaign that encourages students to combine education with practical skills development. Vaishnavi Sah, a Grade 12 student from Janakpurdham, is among the young leaders promoting income-generating skills such as kitchen gardening, Mithila painting, and paper bag making alongside formal education. She believes that learning practical skills not only makes productive use of time but also helps reduce the financial burden on families while enhancing students’ confidence and focus. Through this campaign, girls like Vaishnavi, Roshani Sah, Priti Kumari Mandal, and Girls’ Champion Priti Kumari Paswan are inspiring their peers to pursue education and self-reliance simultaneously, demonstrating that learning and earning can go hand in hand.
